HONK!

From the company that brought you Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat last year, Thames Music Theatre is delighted to present HONK! by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling, Honk! tells the story of an odd-looking baby duck, mercilessly bullied by his siblings and the other farmyard poultry because of his “difference”. When he is lured away from home by a wily cat with lunch on its mind, Ugly finds himself lost and alone, searching desperately for his mother.

After a narrow escape, Ugly embarks on a journey filled with adventure and unforgettable characters. Along the way, he meets a beautiful swan tangled in a fishing line, and the two birds fall in love - but, as ever, the course of true love is never simple…

Bursting with witty dialogue, memorable songs, and plenty of heart, Honk! is a joyful, uplifting musical for the whole family - and not to be missed.

Relaxed Performance – Saturday 9 May, 10:30am

One of the key themes of Honk! is “difference”. To reflect this, the performance on Saturday 9 May at 10:30am will be a relaxed performance, welcoming neurodiverse audience members and their carers, or anyone who might find a typical performance environment difficult to manage.

During this performance:

• Audience members are welcome to make noise and move around as needed
• The house lights will remain on at a low level throughout
• Sudden sound and lighting effects will be softened
